COLOUR OXIDE WALL PLASTER


Colour oxide floor was introduced in Kerala by Portuguese and Italian traders and has been around for ages. Though it lost its popularity due to the emergence of modern flooring materials, it’s making a comeback owning to the fact that its pocket-friendly and aesthetically appealing.

Here in this case, we have made use of the technique for the wall surfaces. It is a labour intensive process and has to be done by expert masons to achieve a flawless finish. Desired colour oxide powder mixed with water and cement to form a workable slurry like paste and is applied directly onto wet freshly plastered wall with a trowel evenly. Spinkling of water throughout the first day post application is a must followed by good curing for a couple of days. A good coat of white wax is applied once dry to achieve a polished shiny finish..
